Phi Theta Kappa inducted nearly 100,000 new members in 2008. Just imagine the result if each new member contributed just one dollar toward the establishment of Phi Theta Kappa scholarships.
It’s true that a dollar doesn’t buy much these days, but with Phi Theta Kappans working together we can easily reach our goal of $2 million in member scholarships.
With the support of chapters and regions, we met our first Hites Scholarship Challenge in April 2009 resulting in the creation of the $1 million Hites Transfer Scholarship endowment. This historic achievement led the Hites Family Community College Foundation to issue a second challenge for the Society to raise $350,000 which would be matched 2 to 1 resulting in a $2 million scholarship endowment for Phi Theta Kappa members.
Chapters, here’s your chance. Invite your members to come together and make a collective gift that will benefit Phi Theta Kappa members for years to come.
Participate by March 1, 2010, and your chapter will receive online recognition plus recognition at the 2010 Annual Convention in Orlando, Florida, April 8–10, 2010.
Chapters with 100% member participation or better (based on 2008 induction numbers) will receive a chance to win a special Meet and Greet with Phi Theta Kappa Executive Director Rod Risley during the 2010 Convention.
