
Now retired, Oberndorf was a founder of METI, a world leader in medical education technology. METI products are used in many community colleges, as well as in the world’s leading medical schools and in some 5,000 organizations worldwide.
As CEO of METI, Lou Oberndorf was responsible for establishing the Frank Lanza Memorial Scholarships for community college students in health care fields. A total of $50,000 in Lanza Scholarships will be presented in 2012.
Mr. Oberndorf served as a panelist at Phi Theta Kappa’s 2011 Annual Convention presentation on college completion. He and his wife Rosemary will match contributions to the Oberndorf Lifeline to Completion Scholarship one-to-one up to $125,000.
Mr. Oberndorf is a graduate of the University of Portland in Oregon, and holds an MBA from the University of Utah. He completed the Senior Management Executive Program at the University of Michigan. Mr. Oberndorf has served on advisory boards for many university medical centers and medical education programs. He is a committed supporter of college completion as a means to provide an educated, qualified workforce to be competitive in the global economy.
